I'm delighted to have these companions in my imagination, The “One-arm Fiddler,” Bubba, Jake, and Specky Baby. The “One-arm Fiddler” is a unique and talented musician. Bubba is a contemporary Bud of mine, who is also known to many of you. Jake is a special kid, as you will see. Specky Baby is a gifted cat, no doubt about it! Each is well educated.
The “One-arm Fiddler” trained himself in his own School of Music. Bubba says he has twenty years of schooling, having gone through the tenth grade twice. Jake is a gifted kid who found his special mission. Specky Baby is a delightful cat that anyone would love to know.
Through imagination they make it possible for me to live in five delightful worlds—the music world, the off-the-wall world of Bubba, the world as a child sees it, the mysterious world of a cat, and my own. Each of the five of us operates within a unique kind of reality.
